On Sept. 20th, 2001, my professional speaking and coaching brought me from Toronto to New York City to present a customized workshop, delayed from Sept. 11/01. Witnessing first-hand the sombre tone 'on-the-street' , I decided to stay and volunteer. I am proud to have served with such a wonderful group of other volunteers through that night, protected from the heavy rain. This is a brief travelog of my volunteering that night at the Emergency Relief base at the Javits Center in Manahattan and at Ground Zero (formerly the World Trade Center Towers). We helped over 800 'Angels' (those hard-working firefighters, police officers and relief professionals) and homeless and wounded people find hot, healthy food, safe shelter, comfort and friendly conversation. Now, please do check your volunteer opportunities in your own city,
